About me
My profession is filmmaking, and has been for the past 5 years.
I graduated Digital Media at Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai Cluj-Napoca. More than that, I studied multiple courses on video production, video editing, color grading, scriptwriting, sound design, lighting, online marketing and storytelling. I’m a living work in progress, trying to learn new things and perfect my skills.
Certifications aside, I would say that I learned the most by actually practicing this craft. I had the opportunity to work in different niches of filmmaking, both as an employee and as an independent filmmaker.
Before finding my style, I worked on niches such as: event aftermovies (parties, festivals, conferences, weddings etc.); commercials (both for products and services); promo videos; music videos; travel videos and multiple personal projects.
By doing so, past years’ experiences had made me a versatile filmmaker. They made me understand what it takes to work as a team and what is required for turning an idea to a finalized product.
I consider myself a open minded person and I enjoy collaborating. For me, it’s always a pleasure to bring my client’s vision to life. I believe that beauty is in the details.
My goal is to turn your story, your idea into a video that engages your audience.
In this digital era that we live in, videos are the best method for spreading your message. Right now, there is no better medium that can engage the audience as efficiently, with people spending more and more time watching video materials.
Why am I telling you this?
Because, whether you have a product, a service, you organize events or you just want to get your message to reach as many people as possible, video is the way to go about it.
With that being said, I have learned that not any video has the same impact…
There are quite a few aspects to keep in mind when creating one, If you do want it to reach its goal. Some of them are:
- The goal of the video – most important, the goal should be to convey the message as efficiently and engaging as possible to your target audience
- A video, as soon as posted, directly influences the image of your brand
- Ideally, it should coincide with your brand’s values and its image
- The video should make best use of the medium’s limitations (different social media platforms, TV etc.). People’s attention span is getting shorter by the minute, especially on the internet.
My studies on different fields of filmmaking, combined with my knowledge on online marketing and storytelling gave me a better understanding about what makes a video capture someone’s attention and, even better, drive the audience to act after they have seen it.
What I do : commercials, promo videos, event aftermovies and music videos.
I always focus on bringing value to each project, trying my best to understand its needs and to find the best way to visually represent your idea.
Most of the time, my client has a few ideas to start with, that are yet to be sorted out and developed. That’s why, before even starting the preproduction process, I like to discuss about the goal of the video and what are the steps that need to be taken. I consider this step vital for any video project.
Depending on where the video will be uploaded, its length and its structure can be very different. Because of that, I usually create different versions of it, each one tailor-made for the different medium. For example: maybe you need a one and a half minute video for Facebook, but you also need a 1 minute version for the Instagram post and two 10 second teasers for stories.
My creative journey started pretty early. I started “filmmaking” at the age of twelve. Back then I loved making so-called movies with my friends and edit YouTube video compilations.
When the time came for me to decide what I wanted to pursue in life (last years of highschool) is when I started taking this craft more seriously. That moment represents the start of my professional filmmaking career. Soon after that came my first client.
Coming up, I did not always have access to the most state of the art equipment, but that made me realize that gear is not everything. It made me learn quicker and rely more on my knowledge. As the size of my productions grew, so did the the quality of the equipment I use.
At some point in my career, I considered that I needed to gain experience as fast as I could. And that I could not have done on my own, so I got employed by a production company. I worked both on the camera and as a editor. I had the chance to work on loads of projects that varied a lot. I pretty much had the chance to work on every niche of filmmaking. It has helped me tremendously in choosing the right path for me, understanding where my skills fit best.
Once I knew, I started my independent filmmaking career. The niches that I’m working on today are: commercials, promo videos, music videos and aftermovies.
As the years went by, my passion for filmmaking grew and so did my hunger for progress.
